Dear *,
i have few questions regarding the TUSB321AI UFP ( Device) mode.
1)The pin 3 CURRENT_MODE is only used when the device is DFP , so the source know what current should advertise, is that correct?
The questions what we should do with the CURRENT_MODE pin when we are using TUSB321AI in UFP mode? Connect to GND or to High with 10kOhm ... ?
2) What should we do with the ID pin when the TUSB321AI is used as UFP ?
3) Does the VCONN_FAULT need an external pull up to 5V if not connected to the uP, and if connected to the uP then the pull-up can be to 1.8V?
4) Is the VCONN also supplied to the cable when the TUSB321AI in UFP mode?
5) Does the OUT1 and OU2 need an external pull up to 5V if not connected to the uP, and if connected to the uP then the pull-up can be to 1.8V?
6) So if i understand correctly the UFP will communicate trough CC signal what current is advertising the host (DFP) device, and the it will output the OUT1 and OUT2 signals, i can reed those signals what max power i have available from the DFP
So i want to do a over-current and over-voltage protection, does the TUSB321AI has this functionality fro VBUS pin?
or is the best way to add a 3.5A fuse and anTVS diode?
BR,
David.
