Hi Team,

one of our customer is thinking to use the SN75DP130 in a industrial Monitor.

The Display in this monitor has a Display port interface (DP 12., 2 Lanes with aux channel and HPD pin).

To compensate for disturbances and losses on the cable, they would like to use a redriver or retimer.

One of the ideas is to use the SN75DP130. There will not be a MCU in the monitor itself.

The SN75DP130 is configured via I2C. Is there a possibility to use this part without the I2C connection?

If not, can you recommend a other part that can fit into this application?

SN75DP130 is a limited redriver, it is better to use TDP142, which is a linear redriver. The TDP142 can be configured either in pin-strap or I2C mode.

Thank You for the information.
In my design I will use the TDP142IRNQR. I found the reference schematic of the eval board here:

For the filter FB1 the information 220R@100MHz is given; is there also a reference bom for the eval schematic,
so that I can find out the complete characteristic curve for the part?
In the reference schematic the optional resistors for Pin 23, Signal DPEN (R9 and R16) are 1k, in the datasheet on page 4 10kOhm are recommended, in figure 19 (Sink side diagram) 10k are used. Is there a reason for the difference? Datasheet says this pin is a 2 level input, so it should not matter, but to avoid problems I wanted to ask this question.

Please see attached BOM. For DP_EN, they can use 1k or 10k pull up resistor.
