TPS65981: TPS65981EVM I2C Address on Kit

Hello,

I am following "application customization tool users guide" on Application Customization Tool 4.03 using the TPS65981EVM. In section 2.6, I am struggling finding the exact I2C address. It is unclear if that I2C is 7 bit or 8 bit. Also, From the schematic of the EVM DEBUG_CTL are also floating so it is either 7F or 4F. When I import the settings using the FTDI interface adapter I get that the import was successful no matter what address I use. It appears to be a false positive. Can you confirm the correct procedure on the TPS65981EVM.

Use Debug-> USB to I2C/SPI Adaptor Settings and then use the Scan I2C feature in our GUI to find out the I2C address and use the same to access the device on the board.

Rahul,

Maybe a more pointed question. Are DEBUG_CTL floating? It appears so based on my review of the schematic but wanted confirmation.

Yes, DEBUG_CTL lines are floating. You can refer the TPS65981EVM's User Guide for more information. (www.ti.com/.../slvuaw8.pdf)
