Hello Apps team,

I am Ethan Kim from TIK and support mm as FAE.

One of my customer is considering TPS65987D. In Customer application, customer does not want to use MCU due to cost reduction. No battery in portable heater, only load for heating inside.

My question is that,

We check and test 20V as VBUS in EVM. But we need check the configuration of IC in EVM.

Could you check and let me have your feedback? I do not think default vaule in TPS65987D EVM

Hi Ethan,

Looks like you're looking to make a 20V power sink for a heater application. If that's the case then you don't need an external MCU for the same.

Hello Rahul,

yes understood for not using MCU. so do we able to use default register setting for TPS659887D?

I test with EVM and it is working 20V sink. I am not sure it is default setting or trimmed for specific value.

Yes, you can use one of the built-in default configurations without using an external MCU.
