Linux/SN65DSI86: Can we convert eDP to DP ?

Hi ,

We have two questions need your help

1. SN65DSI86 is a DSI to eDP bridge , but can this chip support eDP to DP port for attaching a DP monitor ?

2. SN65DSI86 is only support eDP panel with ASSR , If we can convert eDP to DP , we need to disable the ASSR or something ?

DSI86 will support DP.

To disable ASSR, having TEST2 pin high and

======ASSR RW control ======

<i2c_write addr=0x2D count=1 radix=16> FF 0 </i2c_write>/>

Hi David,

After make the ASSR_CONTROL to read/write , what value should I write to the ASSR_CONTROL (1:0) in 0x5A to disable ASSR ?

Do you have the spreadsheet that can calculate the DSI86 register? 0x5A setting depends on the panel.

Hi David,
I only have the datasheet of DSI86.
Our design is want to use DSI86 to convert DSI to a DP connector for attaching a DP monitor , so I thought the ASSR should disable for this case .
Is my understanding wrong ?

Besides, I want to connect a DP monitor not a panel , what else should I concern about calculation for the value in 0x5A ?

Most DP does not support ASSR, so please make sure TEST2 is high first, and
