Part Number: DP83848C
Tool/software: Linux
Hello,
I use a dp83848 from national semiconductor in my project. It is working and fully functional with kernel 4.13, but upon upgrading the kernel (4.15 onwards, and in my case 4.19) it simply does not work. My dts looks like this (for ethernet and phy):
macb0: ethernet@fffc4000 {
#address-cells = <1>;
#size-cells = <0>;
phy-handle = <&phy0>;
phy-mode = "rmii";
status = "okay";
pinctrl-0 = <&pinctrl_macb_rmii>;
local-mac-address = [ff ff ff ff ff ff];
phy0: ethernet-phy@0 {
device_type = "ethernet-phy";
compatible = "ethernet-phy-ieee802.3-c22";
reg = <0>;
};
};
with this dts, I cannot even see eth0, but after changing the compatible, I see eth in list of connections and /sys but still no connection. I have tried the following compatible: "ti,dp83848" and "ethernet-phy-ieee802.3-c22"; as was suggested in another question in this forum.
Also, in my config I have set both dp83848 and the following:
+CONFIG_GENERIC_PHY=y
+CONFIG_BCM_KONA_USB2_PHY=m
+CONFIG_PHY_PXA_28NM_HSIC=m
+CONFIG_PHY_PXA_28NM_USB2=m
+CONFIG_PHY_MAPPHONE_MDM6600=m
What am I missing?
Thank you so much in advance
