TPS65987-90EVM: Questions on using with DP-EXPANSION-EVM

1. Using TPS65987-90EVM Eval board with DP expansion Board EVM. I have noticed TPS65987-90EVM board has GPIO2 (which corresponds to MUX_USB) is hooked to the MUX enable pin. Due to this, I am not able to pass video unless that pin is disabled through firmware. Is there any particular reason for this connection?

2. TPS65987D-90EVM user guide shows type C connector pin A8 as C_SBU_P. According to Display port alternate mode this should be AUX_N (assuming straight plug connection and UFP_D pin assignment). Please clarify.

3. Regarding TPS65987D FLASH, do you have any list of compatible or working SPI FLASH ?

Hi Michael,

The DP-EXPANSION-EVM will not work with the TPS65987EVM as there is no SBU mux on the DP-EXPANSION-EVM. Instead, the 10G-EXPANSION-EVM is to be used with the TPS65987EVM.

Hi Eric,

The TPS65987EVM User Guide describes connection and operation with the DP-EXPANSION-EVM, is this information all incorrect?

Separately, is there a list of SPI FLASH devices compatible with the TPS65987d?

Hi Michael,

We are in the process of updating the document to reflect those changes. The document should refer to "10G-EXPANSION-EVM" instead of "DP-EXPANSION-EVM" all the other connections are correct.
