Can TI TPS6598x chekc E-mark VID/PID ? We want designation cable. If they use another cable and CC Handshake fail.

Hi Kerr,

The TPS65988 can read the e-marker in the cable to determine the capabilities of the cable. However, the TPS65988 cannot act as the e-marker in the cable. A seperate controller would be needed to act as the e-marker in the cable.

Yes, 0x49 will contain the last cable response to a SOP' discover identity on the cable. This will contain the capabilities of the attached cable.
