DP83640: Terminal compatibility problem

Hello sir.

The DP83640 is on module board inside the switchboard.

At present, when encountering the Siemens 7SJ82 model terminal, there will be a problem of compatibility with the Pin lost.

Replacing the terminal or module board without DP83640 will not cause problems. Only when the DP83640 is connected to the Siemens 7SJ82 model terminal will there be compatibility problems.

We used freeze spray or heat gun for 2 to 3 seconds to find out that the situation is more serious. This is all in the working range of the IC.

Do you have any suggestions to solve this problem? Thanks for kindly help~

    problem of compatibility with the Pin lost : Phy does not link up ? What is "Pin Lost"

    Is problem alwyas reproducible or temperature dependant ( as you mentioend you tried the spray) ?

    Sorry, Is Ping loss. I got mistake.

    Is problem always reproducible and will be more serious when the temperature changes. Thanks for kindly help~

    If I understand correctly, DP838640 is able to link with Siemens Controller however while performing ping test, you see packet failures. The situation detiorates with increase in temperature ( or decrease in temperature) ?


    Next thing, I would like to try is if you connect two DP83640,

    a) whether they link-up or not ?
    b) Data transfer between two DP83640 ? Whether this also results in errors ?
    c) Can you check the Clock Input to DP83640 is with-in the datasheet specs ?

    AJ : Yes. Only Siemens Controller got compatibility problem. Other Controller is OK.

    AJ : Yes. Is link-up. but also got compatibility problem.

    AJ : Between two DP83640 is RMII. I can 't check it. If between the Siemens 7SJ82 model and the DP83640 switchboard put a non-DP83640 switchboard are work.

    c) Can you check the Clock Input to DP83640 is with-in the datasheet specs ?

    AJ : DP83640 Clock is 50MHz.

    Dear Geet.
    Good day.
    compatibility problem is ping loss. For example, Ping 10 times will be Loss 1~2 times.
