DS80PCI402: Preset test issue and no PCIE Gen2 -6dB test issue.

Part Number: DS80PCI402

Hi Team,

We follow Tektronix PCIE test protocol and procedure, and have two DS80PCI402 test problems, please kindly help.

1. We know DS80PCI402 is non-linear which can't pass all preset items, and it is OK to pass at least one preset item, no need pass all preset eye diagram.

    But we still need these P0~P10 waveform and upload to Sigtest tool to confirm if our design can meet Pci-sig specification.

    Now we only get eight pretest waveforms, still missing three waveforms.

    Do you have any experience about the preset waveform lack? Is it also cause by DS80PCI402 non-linear?

2. We loss Gen2 -6bB signal test. Normally, Gen2 -3.5dB would auto switch to Gen2 -6dB, but we switch to Gen3 and forced skip Gen2 -6dB.

    Do you have any experience about the Gen2 -6bB signal test missing?

Thanks

  • Hi Daniel,

    I have not heard about missing test waveforms.  I do not believe it is caused by any non-linearities in the DS80PCI402 output.

    Do you have register control of the DS80PCI402?  There may be some interaction with the signal detect circuitry.  We could try to force the DS80PCI402 to stay active all the time during the test procedure.

    To keep the DS80PCI402 active at all times you will need to write the following registers.

    0x06 = 18'h

    0x0D, 0x14, 0x1B, 0x22, 0x2A, 0x31, 0x38, 0x3F = 02'h

    Regards,

    Lee
