DS90UB949-Q1: 1 HDMI drive 2 displays with FPDLINK interface

Hi, TI's experts:

I am planning to use DS90UB949-Q1 which has 2 FPDLINK channel. One channel drive a display has 1280*720*60Hz, Another has lower definition(eg. 1280*320*60Hz).

Is DS90UB949-Q1 able to configure like this? And how to configure? How many deserializer could be applied for the 2 displays(both display has openLDI interface)? Thsnks.

Hello Zhao,

DS90UB949-Q1 does not have this capability. Our new DSI serializer device DS90UB941AS-Q1 does support this type of splitting and you can find the preliminary datasheet here: www.ti.com/.../ds90ub941as-q1.pdf

But what if we use 2 same monitors just with different video content? Does DS90UB949-Q1 able to do this? If not, is the limitation comes from HDMI bridge?

Zhao,

949 does not have the capability to split different content to the two FPD Link output channels. The dual outputs are for sending one high resolution image by splitting the bandwidth between two channels.
