Hello

I want to confirm one thing about XIO2001.

Now there is the below system.

ASIC[PCI] – XIO2001 –[PCIe] Processor

In this case, can both ASIC and Processor access each other bidirectionally?

I mean both can start access like a master?

Hi Oba-san,

Is your question whether or not the XIO2001 can act as both a PCIe-to-PCI bridge and a PCI-to-PCIe bridge? If so, the XIO2001 can only act as a PCIe-to-PCI bridge, not a PCI-to-PCIe bridge.

Since I'm not familiar with PCI and PCIe at all, my question may be strange...
Do you mean PCI side can work only as like slave and can't initiate communicate ?

Hi Oba-san,

Sorry I missed your reply. PCIe messages are both initiated and received by the bridge. You can reference Table 4 on page 30 of the datasheet to messages supported by the bridge.
