TSB41AB2: About Errata function

Part Number: TSB41AB2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSB41AB3

Hi Team

I have a question about errata for TSB41AB2.
The node is locked (disabled) when unplugged or power off during data transfer.
Is the above description correct as a function of Errata?

Also, do you have similar Errata for TSB41AB3 and TSB43AB22 products?

Best Regards,
Ishiwata

  • Hello Ishiwata-san,

The situation you describe doesn’t fall under the errata. The errata covers the situation where the node in question (let’s call it A) is receiving data from another node (let’s call it B) and node B gets unplugged or powered off, then there is a slight chance that node A might lock-up.
The same errata applies to TSB41AB3, but not TSB43AB22.

    Thank you for your response.

    I have a additional question.

TSB43AB22 was described on the first page of the errata document (sllz012.pdf : www.ti.com/.../sllz012.pdf).
    Is this a typo?

If Node A locks up, how do you verify that it is locked?
As a means to confirm that reset is to be performed, it can be confirmed only by the inability to communicate.
    Is this understanding correct?

    Best Regards,
    Ishiwata

  • Ishiwata-san,

Sorry for the confusion. Let me check again if TSB43AB22 is covered by the errata.

Yes; when node A locks up, it won't respond. Please remember that this a rare condition.

    Regards,
    Yaser
  • Ishiwata-san,

I have asked and confirmed that TSB43AB22 is actually still covered by the errata. Also, I was told that this is extremely rare, and was never actually reported in normal use to this date. It will be hard to reproduce as you would need to unplug numerous times, and even then, may still not see it.

    Regards,
    Yaser
