TCAN1042-Q1: I want TCAN1042 replace TJA1044 in automotive

Part Number: TCAN1042-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1044-Q1

hi  Team:

I want TCAN1042 to replace TJA1044,But I test the ACK  waveform  is different  in CANH and CANL; As shown in the red circle of the following waveform, what is the reason? it can relpace?

TJA1044 waveform  as Below!

TCAN1042 waveform  as Below!

  • David,

Are these transceivers being placed in the same exact system? Typically an ACK signal will be a higher CANH level and a lower CANL level as seen in the second TJA1044 CAN frame, but this isn't a requirement by any means. The reason this happens is because multiple CAN transceivers are driving a dominant bit all at one time and thus causing more current to be driven to the bus to have a "stronger" dominant signal. This doesn't always happen though, it will depend on the amount of CAN nodes and the drive strength of the CAN transceiver.

Beyond all of that, the TCAN1042 is a good replacement for the TJA1044, but we also have the TCAN1044-Q1 available for sample. It's a direct match for the TJA1044.

    Regards,
