HD3SS3220: VDD5 at lower input voltage work

Part Number: HD3SS3220

Can HD3SS3220 VDD5 pins support lower input power source of 3.8V to 4.3V where the power is from battery directly.

The VDD5 support internal pins power only, but I see no details blocks in datasheet.

I see ORT, ADDR, ENn_CC , CURRENT_MODE have Mid mode level, the datasheet share the range of VDD5 28% min,

but how much details voltage parameter these pins support? thanks.

  • Lanjie,

it is not recommended to operate HD3SS3220 VDD5 pin outside the recommended operation range (4.5 to 5.5 V). From a application perspective, one issue with the lower power range is that HD3SS3220 sources its VCONN output from VDD5, when operating in the lower VDD5 range you specified VCONN would be outside of spec.
