DS90UB928Q-Q1: Pattern setting of DS90UB928Q/NOPB BIST mode

Part Number: DS90UB928Q-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB928Q

Hi,
about  DS90UB928Q  BIST-mode patterns,
in spec. page52 Table8  1110: Custom color (or its inversion) configured in PGRS, PGGS, PGBS registers,
if we want to build these patterns of graylevel16(G16), graylevel31(G31), graylevel63(G63), and crosstalk(CT), and
these patterns display following the sequence of G16-->G31-->G63-->CT,
Can we use this setting to achieve our target?

Warm Regards,
Sauron

  • Hsian,
the pattern inside 928 can support the custom programming as you mentioned above, but for this mode, the pattern is fixed once you set the pgRs, pgGs, pgBs. It has no sequence.

    regards,
    Steven
  • Hi,
    about DS90UB928Q power-sequence,
the 3.3V must be power-on before 1.5ms, but
had it demand on the power-off sequence? (such as 3.3V must be down to low below ? ms)

    Warm Regards,
    Sauron
  • no special request on power off but please make sure you should meet the chip absolute electrical spec. request in d/s (the I/o voltage is NOT allowed be over +0.3 + VDD / GND - 0.3V.

  • Hi Junqiang,

in spec. page 22 patterns of DS90UB928Q BIST mode,

hope to clarify what exact patterns below item14/item15/item16, or

provide us with these 3 pattern-images.

    Warm Regards,

    Sauron

  • Sorry, we have no pattern image. But if you are using our pattern gen., you can generate these 3 patterns in your board, the output is the image that you want to get. attached is on pattern gen. app. note for your reference.

    thanks.

    Steven

    Fixed Pattern Select:
This field selects the pattern to output when in Fixed Pattern Mode.  Scaled patterns are evenly distributed across the horizontal or vertical active regions.  This field is ignored when Auto-Scrolling Mode is enabled.  The following table shows the color selections in non-inverted followed by inverted color mode:

    0000: Reserved
    0001: White/Black
    0010: Black/White
    0011: Red/Cyan
    0100: Green/Magenta
    0101: Blue/Yellow
0110: Horizontally Scaled Black to White/White to Black
0111: Horizontally Scaled Black to Red/White to Cyan
1000: Horizontally Scaled Black to Green/White to Magenta
1001: Horizontally Scaled Black to Blue/White to Yellow
1010: Vertically Scaled Black to White/White to Black
1011: Vertically Scaled Black to Red/White to Cyan
1100: Vertically Scaled Black to Green/White to Magenta
1101: Vertically Scaled Black to Blue/White to Yellow
1110: Custom color (or its inversion) configured in PGRS, PGGS,
      PGBS registers
    1111: Reserved

  • Hi Junqiang,
What is BIST-patterns-sequece, if we set BISTEN to high for enabling the BIST mode?
    BIST-patterns-sequece is:
    0000: Checkerboard--> 0001: White/Black (default)-->0010: Black/White-->0011: Red/Cyan-->.....
-->1101: Vertical Black-Blue/White-Yellow-->1110: Custom color (or its inversion) configured in PGRS, PGGS, PGBS registers
    -->1111: VCOM??
Besides, how many time-interval is between 2 patterns?

    Warm Regards,
    Sauron

  • Hi Sauron,
the BIST can't support the pattern you listed above.
when you enable the BIST function, the pattern is PRBS, and the receiver side would decode the PRBS pattern.

    regards,
    Steven
