DS125DF111: Can I use for Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE)?

Part Number: DS125DF111

Hi,

Can I use DS125DF111 for SyncE?
Would you let me know DS125DF111 output phase same as input phase?
I think 25MHz reference clock for DS125DF111 internal VCO locking and VCO phase lock with input phase in CDR block, so input phase and output phase should be same, right?
For SyncE, output ppm and phase should be same with input ppm and phase.
Please let me know DS125DF111 can use for SyncE.
Thank you.

Best Regards,
BJ

  • Hi BJ,
Reference clock is just used to achieve lock. Actually, once device is locked you can disconnect reference clock and device would maintain lock state. Once device achieves lock, device is frequency and phase locked to the incoming signal.

  • Hi,

Yes the input and output phase relationship will be consistent (synchronous). The total propagation delay from input to output will be given by the formula: 1.5UI + 200ps. For a 10Gbps signal with a 100ps UI, the total latency will be 300ps.
