DS90UB954-Q1: FAKRA connector selection

Hi TI，

We are using the DS90UB954-Q1 FPD link as camera data transmission，could you help point out what's needed on FAKRA connector performance ？could you check if attached connector can meet FPD link 4Gbps transmission？

Hi Peiyuanqing,

The automotive cables and connectors need to have a high temperature range, flexible, meet EMI/EMC requirements (360 degree shielded connector and low GND impedance, good cable shield coverage while remaining flexible), meet aging and mechanical stress return and impedance loss characteristics, and the FAKRA must be 50 ohms for the 954.

You can try using the Leoni DACAR 302 or 462 cable for the 954.

attachment is connector spec ,could you check if it can be used ?we want to do 4gbps data transfer .

Hi Pei,

I looked at the connector you sent. Aside from physical dimensions, there is no specifications on return/insertion loss or temperature. I compared it to the FAKRA connector used on our 953 EVM (I will link below) and the working voltage is less than that of from Rosenberger. If you are determined to use your connector, the impedance and frequency spec are fine, so you may give it a try.
