HD3SS3220: Dynamic swithching between DFP and UFP

Hi team,

Is there any problem to swtich DFP and UFP by controling PORT pin to HIGH or LOW in operation?

It can be done by floating the PORT pin to act the device as DRP mode, but customer is considering not to use DRP mode.

you can enable DFP and UFP with I2C and pull PORT pin low. see table 10 mode_sel on datasheet

Hi Brian,

I want to ask you whether DFP and UFP can swap anytime by controling PORT pin in operation .
Is the switching between DFP and UFP mode limited only in unattached mode same as MODE_SELECT register?

yes, only in unattached mode
