TPD3S714-Q1: TPD3S714-Q1 VBUS_CON and VBUS_SYS design question

Part Number: TPD3S714-Q1

Hi Sir,

Could you please help to clarify below questions?

Thanks

(1)  VBUS_SYS(PIN14/PIN15) is used as INPUT and  VBUS_CON(PIN2/PIN3) is used as OUTPUT ?

(2)  Is the VBUS path current direction flow from VBUS_SYS(PIN14/PIN15) to VBUS_CON(PIN2/PIN3) ?

(3)  If VBUS_SYS is supplied from device internal 5V , and VBUS_CON is connected to 5V from another device via USB connector, is it ok ?

  • Hi Wu,
We are find the answer for your question, will feedback to you soon. Thanks!
  • Hi Michael,

    Thanks
  • Hi Anne,

Sorry for the late response. Pls find my comment as below :

    (1) VBUS_SYS(PIN14/PIN15) is used as INPUT and VBUS_CON(PIN2/PIN3) is used as OUTPUT ?
Yes, the VBUS_SYS is for 5V power in and VBUS_CON is for USB type A port BUS pin.

    (2) Is the VBUS path current direction flow from VBUS_SYS(PIN14/PIN15) to VBUS_CON(PIN2/PIN3) ?
Yes, the direction is from SYS to CON.

    (3) If VBUS_SYS is supplied from device internal 5V , and VBUS_CON is connected to 5V from another device via USB connector, is it ok ?
VBUS_SYS is generally connect the 5 V system power supply (DCDC output ) ,VBUS_CON connect to type A port BUS pin. The devcie will provide current limit , short to battery and ESD protection for the 5V rail in power system .
