Hi Team，

In my Design，The system includes 1 CPU board and 8 other boards，Data interchange with PCIe bus 。in each board we add PCIe Repeater (CPU board use DS80PCI800 ,other board use DS80PCI102

Diagram as follows)

Q1： In application，Is there any problem？（CPU board use DS80PCI800 ,and other board use DS80PCI102 ， DS80PCI102 's Tx are NO connect ）

Q2：DS80PCI800 include 8-channel repeater，Is it possible to communicate independently without interfering with each other?

Hi,

I do not see any issues with your implementation. The channels in PCI800 also operate independently. These two devices actually share the same datapath design.

Leave the unused DS80PCI102 Rx and Tx pins open.

Do chip DS80PCI102 need to be paired in application？
my implementation CPU board use DS80PCI800 ,and other board use DS80PCI102 ，DS80PCI800 only has RX，no TX

Hi,

The devices do not need to be paired with each other. PCIe applications work best with a single equalizer in the channel. Cascading two redrivers/equalizers in series results in a large number of variables and can make bring-up quite challenging. In your case there are two redrivers, but they are not cascaded. They are positioned so that most of the channel attenuation occurs on our redriver input side. This is an ideal situation for linear equalization or CTLE.
