TPD4E1U06: Sd card interface HC, XC

Part Number: TPD4E1U06
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD1E04U04

Dear *,

we know that the TPD4E1U06 is suitable for standard SD card interface, but is it suitable regarding speed for the SD HC and XC cards?

Also there is no problem to protect the 3V3 voltage of the sd card connector with TPD4E1U06 because VRWM =5V?

Best Regards,

David.

What is the speed of SD HC and XC card interfaces? If you let me know that, I can find you a suitable device. For the TPD4E1U06, it should be ok for the SD Card, but if you want the highest reliability solution I would recommend the TPD1E04U04 which has a 3.3V working voltage.

    Thanks,
    Alec
  • Hi Alec,

i have the spec from u-processor that says

    SD/SDIO Specification Version 3.01

    -Clock from 0-100MHz
    - up to 400Mbits per second with 4 parallel data lines ( SD's SDR50 or DDR50) ( i thin 100 Mbps per lane)
    - data transfer in SDR12, SDR25, SDR50 or DDR50 modes

UHS- I SDHC, SDXC and SDUC 50MB/s
    (SDR50, DDR50)
    104MB/s (SDR104) 3.01

    www.sdcard.org/.../

we have on the pcb already: TPD4E02B04DQAR and TPD4E1U06DCKR

    Best Regards,
    David.

Both of these options will work well, the capacitance is low enough to not cause issues with the data rate or the working voltage.

    Thanks,
