DS90UB933-Q1: ds90ub933Q1 POC design and not used Pin

Part Number: DS90UB933-Q1

Dear TI:

1. DIN[0:11]PIN:
Parallel data Inputs. For 10-bit MODE, parallel inputs DIN[0:9] are active. DIN[10:11] are inactive and should not be used. Any unused inputs (including DIN[10:11]) must be No Connect. For 12-bit MODE, parallel inputs DIN[0:11] are active. Any unused inputs must be No Connect.

For 10-bit mode: DIN[10:11] Can be used common IO pin,  if it can be use as IO Pin, what should be pay more attention, thanks ?

2. DS90UB933-Q1 , POC Cirucit can used in 12V or 24V System or not?  when used in 12v system , what should be cared?   ripple wave or others ...

3.POC :
In order to make the DC Power circuit for Data forward channel does not produce interference, need to ensure that the impedance of the circuit for/reverse Data channel is enough big, usually make it > ~ 20 * line characteristic impedance (Coax 50 Ω) = 1 k Ω (1 MHZ to 850 MHZ).

20 times, it is experience value or have a theoretical calculation formula?  can help to share related files  ?

  • Hello,

    1. In 10 bit mode, DIN[10:11] should not be used as general IO. They should be left no connect as the datasheet says
    2. There is no hard requirement for the DC voltage on PoC, but the noise requirements are strict. Please refer to the datasheet for PoC noise specs in table 6.3, plus this app note for design considerations: www.ti.com/.../snla224.pdf
    3. Please refer to the app note for details on the theory. This is the methodology we use to test and verify our PoC capability at the system level so this is why we specify it this way.

    Best Regards,
    Casey
  • Pls note the RAW10 and RAW12 mode is quite different inside 914A, they have diff. mapping.
For your issue, Sony's AE had aligned with TI on the signal transmitted from 019 to 933 and then to 914A (934 is promoted here to replace 914A) through the unused Data pins in your mode setting.
for example, for RAW10 mode, if you use the lower 8bits parallel input, you can use the unused D8/D9 to transmit signal from 933 side to 934 side. But you can't use the D10/D11 as these two pins are unused in RAW10 mode, which Casey already gave your answer!

    regards,
    Steven
  • We use DIN [0-7], which means that DIN8 and DIN9 can be used as ordinary IO ports to connect EXBUSY and ERRROR of ISX019?

  • Yes, it can if the signal has no special requirement on the jitter.

    regards,

    Steven
