DS90UB928Q-Q1: Question for BIST mode patterns

Part Number: DS90UB928Q-Q1

Hi,

It’s about Deserializer DS90UB928-Q1.

Customer would like to know this deserializer BIST mode patterns.

In spec, it mentioned patterns as below list:

See attached file #1

As for pattern #14, #15, #16, the following are my understanding. Could you help me to double confirm it if my understanding is right or not?

  1. #14: Custom color is that we can separately set R/G/B 8-bit data value to decide output pattern, for example: we can set register PGRS=0x32, PGGS=0x32, PGBS=0x32, and then the pattern will be gray32.
  2. #15: Checkerboard pattern is set by PGCTL register, there are 2 type we can use. One is 1pixel x 1pixel, another on is 8pixels x 8pixels. As below picture:  See attached file #2,3

3.#16: VCOM pattern: such as below:

           See attached file #4

  • Hi Lin,

May I know what the system is available in your hand? is it the 928 EVM board or the system? How do you need this pattern content?

For your question, it is on what the pattern content inside UB928? For 14#, 15# and 16#, the pattern contend can be programmed. I would recommend you run the test in your system with different RGB data.

    Best regards,

    Steven
