SN65DSI86: Device Spec Question

Part Number: SN65DSI86

Dear Team,

Could you please help to check below questions? Thank you.

1. Could SN65DSI86 support MIPI command mode?

2. Could we leave channel B floating and only use channel A as MIPI DSI input?

3. Could SN65DSI86 support PSR?

Regards,

Jim

    1. The DSI86 does not support the Command mode. The command mode would only be meaningful for a DSI panel, not a DSI to eDP bridge such as DSI86. Control of a eDP panel must be done thru the AUX interface.

    2. You can leave unused channel B unconnected.

    3. Since the DSI86 is a MIPI DSI bridge to eDP, it's the responsibility of the GPU to send the PSR commands. Customer will need to refer to eDP spec to know specifically what needs to be written and what order. Please refer to section 8.4.5.9 of the datasheet for more detail.

    Thanks
