TUSB320HAI: DISABLE_RD_RP bit in CSR

Part Number: TUSB320HAI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB320

Hi Experts,

We received inquiries about DISABLE_RD_RP bit in CSR Registers( address = 0x45). Our customer is developing specific tow boards, as follows. The board1 has Type-C receptacle and CC1/CC2 already has pulldown (5.1Kohm) registers, due to gain VBUS power.

And, Board1 also is able to connect to Board2 (TUSB320: CC Controller).  TUSB320 is set to UFP mode (PORT pin=Low). Therefore, customer has question about DISABLE_RD_RP bit. Customer believes, CC pins indicates Hi-z when this bit is set to “1”. Is that correct?

The reason why customer is asking, is that Board1 has already Rd pulldown., like above figure.

And then, when DISABLE_RD_RP = 1(Disable Rd and Rp ), Is TUSB320 still able to work as UFP device ? I mean, TUSB320 is able to do detection (Attached/Unattached, current detection, Cable orientation.) ?

It is appreciated if you will be able to share your advice/comments on this.

Best regards,

Miyazaki
