TPS65987D: Boot Mode Pin Strapping

Hi Team,

I would like to ask two questions about Boot Mode Pin Strapping.

1)
I believe "Device Configuration" in Table 5 indicates the device configuration after boot if SPI flash isn't connected to TPS65987D.
Is my understanding correct?

2)
There is "(Internal Switch)" or "(External Switch)" in Table 7.
"Configuration 5" shows "(External Switch)" and I believe it indicates External Switch is used for sink path.
Is my understanding correct?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hi Yaita-san,

#1 Yes, boot configuration if the device is not able to load a patch update (neither from SPI nor I2C). Our recommendation is to plan for patch and configuration update at boot time from either SPI or I2C

#2 Yes, external switch controlled with PP_EXT. In this case, configured as sink.
