I need to design a 24 parallel lines SerDes Transceiver whose serial lines can run about 70 feet. Any IC recommendations or design ideas?

Thanks for your quick reply. The reason why I asked is because in the datasheet there are a lot of different delays and I am not sure which ones to take into account. I am new to this and a bit confused, that's all.
Hi Paola,
For the DS92LV2421 and DS92LV2422, I believe the delay specs you need are "tsd" in section 6.11 on page 14 of the datasheet and "tdd" in section 6.12 on page 15 of the datasheet. You will need to take both delays in account since these devices have to be used as a pair.
If you use a buffer to extend the length like in the application note shared above, this will also add additional delay. For example, for the DS25BR100 the propagation delay spec is on page 5 of the datasheet.

Can I use only 12 bits or do all 24 bits need to be used?? If I can use only 12 bits how does that affect my delay and speed?
Hi Paola,
Yes it is fine to only use 12 bits. This won't affect the delay/speed. The only way you can affect these is by changing the clock frequency. Due to the proprietary encoding scheme of the DS92LV2411 and DS92LV2412 the speed is fixed at 28*Clock.
Also, I just noticed that in my last reply I quoted the wrong part numbers. They are similar parts though so the parameters you want to look at (tsd and tdd) are the same.
