TCAN1043-Q1: Schematic double check

Part Number: TCAN1043-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043

Hi, team,

I posted below question on E2E.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/p/773908/2876768#2876768

We are trying to ask customer to test CAN traffic on the bus to check whether it wake the device up and putting it into Standby.

What's more, could you help double check whether below TJA1043T schematic is 100% workable for TCAN1043-Q1?

Thanks.

Johnny

  • Hi Johnny,

It looks like my colleague Eric Hackett has provided feedback to your previous question. Is there any further clarification that you need for that use case? I would expect CAN traffic on the bus to put the device in Standby Mode, as you have said.

For the schematic you have provided, the TCAN1043 should work as a drop-in replacement for the TJA1043. The only difference is that the SPLIT pin on TJA1043 is a No-Connect on the TCAN1043, so that wired connection is superfluous but will have no effect on operation.

There are a few minor timing differences between the TCAN1043 and its competitor devices. These differences should have little-to-no effect on the software transitions for the device. Please email me separately and we can provide that analysis to you.
