PCA9306: IBIS module select

Part Number: PCA9306

Hi team,

My customer want to use the IBIS module in the web.

They need 3.3V to 1.8V, can you help to indicate the difference between two modules as below:

1. [Model] PCA9306_IO_18_S Model_type  Series_switch

2. [Model]PCA9306_IO_18,Model_type  Terminator

Which module can be used for the 3.3V to 1.8V application?

Lacey

Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Lacey,

I would use the series_switch models, since these model the switch functionality that is needed for level translating applications. The terminator type model only includes information on the ground clamp structure (which might be useful in simulating the leakage behavior for negative applied voltages).

Let us know if you have any questions or difficulties with the model.

    Regards,
    Max
  • Hi Max,
How to use the series model as an output in simulation?
  • Hi Max,

My customer use the module do the simulation, but it seems the output level of the max condition is only 1.03V, the typical and min condition are correct.

    PCA9306_IO_18_S Model_type  Series_switch。

Can you help to double check the module the max condition output level?

    Lacey

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Max

Can you help to look at this issue ASAP?

It's a little urgent because this affect the solution of my customer's system solution.

    Lacey

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Lacey,

Sorry for the delay - I was out of office the end of last week.

Can you please share your circuit set-up for this test? Primarily I would be interested to see how you've implemented the pull-up resistances, since these are required for proper operation.

Also, which simulation tool are you using? (I believe the handling of series switch models like this can vary from tool to tool.)

    Regards,
    Max
