TPS25810: Consult for proper USB solution

Part Number: TPS25810
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2547

Hi team,

This is Jessica, glad to work with you.

Since customer has some requirements about A+C(no Automotive qualified) and single C solution, and their detail requirements are as following shows:

1. single C@5V,3A

2. A+C(A@5v,2.4A; C@5V,3A)

3. Only need charging function and do not need communication and Vbus protection

4. Non-automotive solution: Single C <$0.4  ,  A+C<$0.6

Could you please kindly help to promote some proper solution as to above requirements.

Thank you very much for your support.

Best regards

Jessica

  • Hello Jessica,

Yes, the single C solution using 5V at 3A, the TPS25810 is the correct part to use.

Would you mind elaborating on what you mean by A+C? Are they using two separate ports for the Type-A and Type-C port? Or are you wanting Type-A functionalities on a Type-C port?
  • Hi Adam,

Thank you very much for you support and sorry for the confuse.

I mean there would have an work condition port A and Port C are charging at the same time(means need 5.4A charging current). two separate A port and C port. which mean we need two devices solution, one is for A solution add another one is for C solution.
Or we also can promote some integrated device(support 6A charging) which integrated with one type A port add one type C port if we do have relate solution.

    Thank you & Best regards
    Jessica
  • Hello Jessica,

We do have part that can integrate support for two different ports, but based on your description, I believe that the best solution is to implement the TPS25810 for the Type-C port and the TPS2547 for the Type-A port. Both are able to support the current capabilities you are requesting.
