DP83867IR: Table 8. RGZ RGMII Transmit Clock Skew Details and Table 9. RGZ RGMII Receive Clock Skew Details

Part Number: DP83867IR

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask DP83867IR?

We recognize that DP83867IR has adjustment function for RGMII timing using RGMII Delay Control Register(0x0086) and RGMII Control Register(0x0032).

We would like to confirm the boot strap function "Table 8. RGZ RGMII Transmit Clock Skew Details and Table 9. RGZ RGMII Receive Clock Skew Details."
Are these boot strap settings the same as RGMII timing using RGMII Delay Control Register and RGMII Control Register?
These settings(strap settings) are for stand alone setting(without using MDIO/MDC), right?

If these boot strap settins are configured, do the value of RGMII Delay Control Register(0x0086) and RGMII Control Register(0x0032) change?
Or, RGMII Delay Control Register(0x0086) and RGMII Control Register(0x0032) are not relation to the boot strap function "Table 8. RGZ RGMII Transmit Clock Skew Details and Table 9. RGZ RGMII Receive Clock Skew Details."?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Hirotaka,

    - Yes, the strap settings for the RGMII clock delay is the same as RGMII Delay Control Register. The delay can be configured thru strap without using MDC/MDIO.

    - The default value of RGMII Delay Control Register(0x0086) and RGMII Control Register(0x0032) will follow the strap configuration.
