TPS65987D: The operation of TPS65987D is changed after HRESET toggling

Hi Team,

My customer designed their board with TPS65987D.
Some of their boards have issue that operation is changed after HRESET toggling, the operation is sometimes different from expected.
For example, configuration in SPI flash is set power source only however sometimes power sink can be seen after HRESET toggling.

Is it possible case for TPS65987D?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hi Yaita-san,

Toggling the HRESET pin should not change the behavior of the TPS65987D unless you are altering register settings after bootup. Once the HRESET pin is toggled, the TPS65987D will go back to its original boot config. It will not however read from the SPI Flash again. If you want the TPS65987D to reboot completely and read from the SPI Flash again, I would suggest using the GAID 4CC command over I2C.

    Thank you,
    Eric
