TPS65981: Code Review

Hi E2E,

We want to use TPS65981 to supply 12V to system.

But after we setting, TPS65981 only supply 5V.


Could you kindly review the code or teach us how to setting?

    Hi Julian,

    How are you controlling the variable supply that controls the VBUS voltage supply? This will need to swap from 5V to 12V when a 12V contract is accepted.
    Additionally, you need to supply both 5V and 9V if you are to also supply 12V to be compliant with the USB PD spec. This is aligned with the PD Power Supply rules.

    Hi Eric,

    Our customer want to use TPS65981 EVM to supply to system for test.


    TPS65981 of system that we use type-C power supply plug in and  confirm VBUS is 12V, so the code in system side is OK.


    BUT when TPS65981 of EVM plug in system, we measure the VBUS just only 5V,
    so we think that the code had something wrong on EVM.

    Julian,

    The TPS65981EVM is not capable of supplying 12V. The DC/DC supply on the EVM is only capable of providing 5V, 9V, 15V, or 20V.
