TIC12400: Run Vs pin from 24V?

Part Number: TIC12400

Also, with regards to the TIC12400, would it be okay to run the VS pin from 24Vdc is we are only using a maximum current sink of 1mA per channel ??

In the data sheet it says that the max supply is 16Vdc….. but can handle a 40Vdc load dump. Is the 16Vdc a limit due to the potential power dissipation if you had all channels sourcing 15mA (we are only using a small amount of power at 1mA but have a high input voltage (24Vdc on Vs))

  • Ajat,

If your system is less than 85 deg you can operate Vs up to 24V.  If your system temperature is > 85 deg C we recommended only using up to 18V on Vs pin.  We can't recommend operating outside these conditions even if you are only sinking 1mA per channel.

    Thank you,

    Adam
