Does the TPS65987D need D+/- to negotiate USB-PD or only the CC pins for the PD functions?

It would be beneficial if it only needed the CC pins, so that the D+/- could be run to a USB2 controller.

Please advise.

Hi Josh,

The TPS65987D only needs the CC pins and VBUS for USB-PD and Type-C negotiation. The D+/D- pins are only needed if you would like to support BC1.2 advertisement or detection. Otherwise, you do not need to connect them.
