I saw TI have two document

1. May I know fast role swap is the same with power role swap ?

2. Could TPS65988 follow power role swap document to do or have others document for TPS65988?

Hi Kai,

1. FRS is different from a Power Role Swap. VBUS will go to 0V during a power role swap but will not go to 0V during an FRS. You can learn more about FRS in the USB PD spec.

2. The TPS65988 supports FRS

Have any document to describe how to use TPS65987 to do FRS for host side and device side?

Hi Kai,

The TPS65987 will only do FRS as a Host. Simply enable "Automatic Sink Cap" in the Port Control register, and enable FRS in the PD3 config register.

For the device side, you also need to enable FRS in the Sink Capabilities register.
