DS90UB954-Q1EVM: DS90UB954 is recognized as DS90UH925 by ALP(Analog LaunchPad)

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP,

Hi,

I have a DS90UB954-Q1EVM and I connected it to my Laptop and used ALP to test the connection. However, I found the DS90UB954 is recognized as DS90UH925 on ALP

I  remove the DS90UH925 and add DS90UB954 back, but it is still recognized as DS90UH925. I restart the laptop and test it again. The result is the same.

Please refer to the attachment "ALP Question".

I test the connection on the other laptop, the recognition is correct.

Is it about the USB driver problem? Please kindly advice.

  • Hello,

Thanks for the screen shots. So is it right to say, on one laptop you see this recognition issue but on another laptop there is no issue and DS90UB954 recognition is correct?

    a) Sometimes I have seen this type of issue is due to loose USB port connection. Can you try on a different USB port of the laptop?
    b) Also, it could be a poor usb cable issue. Could you also check with a different usb cable?
    c) Are both the laptops running windows 10 or windows 7?

    Thanks,
    Vishy
  • Hi Vishy,

Thanks for reply. Yes, the issue is happened on one laptop.

    a) Yes, I tried different USB port. However, it is recognized as DS90UH925.

    b) I tested 3 cables. The result is the same. I also test 3 cables on the other laptop and DS90UB954 is recognized as DS90UB954.

    c) Both of the two laptop are Windows 10. But, the one with issue is Windows 10 pro version and the other laptop is home version.

    Best Regards

    Grant

  • Grant,

Do you have admin permission for the windows 10 pro version laptop? Without admin permission ALP install/running might not work.

    Thanks,
    Vishy
  • Grant,
