TPS65981 and TUSB320I

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65981, TPS65987D

We have a question.

Our customer tries to use TUSB320I.

But they can't implement this IC because pin pitch is too narrow.

So they try to use TPS65981.

Can we use TPS65981 instead of TUSB320I?

Please tell us the difference between TPS65981 and TUSB320I.

Best regards,

Takahiro Nishizawa

  • Hi Takahiro-san,

I would suggest looking at the TPS65987D instead of the TPS65981. The TPS65987D is our latest PD controller which supports PD3.0. It is configurable through a GUI tool and can be 100% stand-alone when adding an SPI Flash. I would suggest checking out the TPS65987D and the TPS65987EVM to see if it can meet your needs.

    Thank you,
    Eric
