Dear expert,

I would like to double confirm with you if TRS3232E-Q1 can meet RS-232C or not.

According to app note *slla037a*, TRS3232E-Q1 should can support RS-232-C. Am I right?

The other question is did we have smaller package solution for RS-232 like TRS3232E-Q1?

Q-grades and RS-232-C are must to have.

Hi Ben,

I can confirm that this part will meet RS-232C requirements. We do have a few automotive-qualified transceivers, but none are smaller in package size than TRS3232E-Q1, unfortunately.

Ben,

The smallest offering would be TRS3122E, which comes in a 4 mm x 4 mm QFN package. This device may also be able to reduce component count in systems using low voltage MCUs/UARTs, since it is able to be supplied by 1.8 V if needed.
