DP83822HF: Automotive Qualification

Part Number: DP83822HF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83TC811S-Q1, DP83TC811R-Q1

Hello - are there any places to qualify the DP83822HF ethernet PHY for automotive applications?

Thanks and best regards,

Jessica

  • Hi Jessica,

For AEC-Q100, TI would need to run the PHY through the required reliability tests.
Are you looking to do reliability testing of the DP83822HF at a 3rd party?
I have never heard of this before. Or are you asking about EMC related tests to automotive limits?

Please be aware that we do have 100BASE-T1 PHYs that are AEC-Q100 and passes automotive EMC specifications, DP83TC811S-Q1 and DP83TC811R-Q1.

  • Hello Ross, thank you for the quick response.

My questions is whether TI has plans to run this part through AEC-Q testing or if there are any plans to release an automotive-equivalent part.

I have looked at both the DP83TC811S-Q1 and DP83TC811R-Q1, but unfortunately they do not meet my requirements (they do not support 100BASE-FX ethernet). I'm specifically looking for a solution which will enable ethernet over fiber (in an automotive application).
  • Hi Jessica,

Right now we are not planning to AEC-Q100 the DP83822.
For the application though, do you mind sharing more information?
If not over E2E, could you send me a private message?
I would like to understand the needs more to see what we can do to support you.
  • Hello Ross,

Thanks for the response, but we've decided to go a different direction for our communication link.

    Best regards,
    Jessica
