DP83822IF: DP83822IF LED Configuration

Hi,

I'm using DP83822IF for my Ethernet communication. Earlier I used DP83848 and I switched to DP83822 based on TI forum suggestion because we need Fiber optic communication. The PCB is designed such a way to use either RJ45 or fiber optic at a time.

Now I can do the communication through either RJ45 or Fiber optic, but the LED (Green and Orange) indication is not showing properly. The green LED always turned ON and orange LED turned OFF. I need to blink the orange LED for Tx/Rx indication.

Please provide the details to configure the LED as per my need.

Hi Udhay,

DP83822 provides flexible configuration to configure LEDs.

You can use HW straps on CRS pin or Register programmble thru 0x0025.

Hi Geet,

Thanks for the reply. I'm using STM32F207 ST ARM controller. Unfortunately I can't access the 0x0025 register of PHY IC because of the limitation of the microcontroller. The controller allows upto 0x001F register address only. I just managed to connect a HW strap resistor (13K & 2K) at CRS pin. The LEDs are working fine, but the LEDs are interchanged. Normally we need green for link and orange for Rx/Tx indication. Is there any possibility to make the desire LED configuration by strap pin alone
