PCA9545A: Datasheet related question

Part Number: PCA9545A

Hi team,

my customer want to use the PCA9545 as below:

So please help to answer below questions:

1. What's the Vpass voltage?

2. So in the application, it seems the Vpass need to be lower than 1.8V, so I need to refer to the typical value, then the VCC should be less than 3V right?

But if I want to have a margin, how should I choose the VCC?  it seems the 3V is just point to 1.8V Vpass.

3. For the max and min, what's the indicated temperature?  Does the max refer to high temp?

Lacey

Thanks a lot!

  • Hey Lacey,

    1. What's the Vpass voltage?

In your example, Vpass is 1.8V because of channel 0.

    2. So in the application, it seems the Vpass need to be lower than 1.8V, so I need to refer to the typical value, then the VCC should be less than 3V right?

For the typical curve, yes. You need to make Vcc 3V or less.

But if I want to have a margin, how should I choose the VCC?  it seems the 3V is just point to 1.8V Vpass.

I would use the maximum curve, this would put the maximum Vcc to be 2.5V.

    3. For the max and min, what's the indicated temperature?  Does the max refer to high temp?

Indicated temperature should be -40C, 25C, and 85C. Maximum refers to -40C, where the threshold voltage is lower at lower temperatures.

    Thanks,
