DS90UB925Q-Q1: Forward Channel and Back Channel question

Part Number: DS90UB925Q-Q1

Dear Sir.

I need ask 925+ 926 FPD-LINK III signal several questions.

1. What is the 35-bits of the Forward Channel transmission? Is 24 DIN[23:0] + 4 sync signals + 2 I2C + 3 I2S audio = 33 bit?

2. What are the Back Channel transmissions bit?

3. Is the Forward Channel and Back Channel transmitted simultaneously at the FPD-LINK III signal? Is there a more detailed timing diagram explanation?

  • Hello AJ,

    1. The 35 bit frame contains the video data, control data, clock, and DC balance bits, etc. The specific frame format is TI proprietary IP
    2. Similarly, the back channel contains control data but the specific frame format is not public. Please reference the datasheet for relevant info to system design such as GPIO sampling frequency and effective forward/back channel speeds for input/output data
    3. The forward and back channels are transmitted simultaneously and both sides contain echo cancellation circuitry to properly recover the desired signals

    Best Regards,
    Casey
