TPS65987EVM: Can't work with DP-EXPANSION-EVM (HD3SS460 )

1. Can the TPS65987EVM work with  the DP-EXPANSION-EVM (HD3SS460 ,sink)?

The current firmware i use:

/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/138/tps6598x_2D00_application_2D00_customization.7z

is there any other  suitable firmware?and how i change it?

2. Flash firmware to flash ,failed verification ,is that be OK ? how can i solve this problem?

    Hi Zhiyi,

    The DP-EXPANSION-EVM will not work with the TPS65987EVM. Only the 10G-EXPANSION-EVM will work with the TPS65987EVM. I would suggest following the steps in the user's guide for determining how to flash the TPS65987EVM. It should not fail verification.

    Thank you very much for your reply，but I still have some questions here:

    1. Instead of using TUSB1064 in our current design, we are using PS8742B (with I2C communication)  from Parade tech. In this case, the firmware must be modified, how to modify it?Does it need to be redeveloped?

    2. BQ25703 is our charging chip. Is there any corresponding firmware?Does it need to be redeveloped as well?

    3. Does TPS65987D allow us to program and develop the functions we need?

    4. As for the aforementioned HD3SS460 cannot be used, our current application does not need to transmit 10G, so can HD3SS460 be used?How to modify to fit HD3SS460?

    5. The user's guide you mentioned earlier was [TPS6598x Application Customization Tool]?

    You would need to reconfigure the TPS65987 to work with those devices. You can refer to the I2C Master configuration app note to see how you can meet your needs: www.ti.com/.../slvae18.pdf
