We have one customer asking if DS100BR111 supports both USXGMII (10.3125 Gb/s) and SGMII Interface (1.25Gbps)?

Hi Art,

DS100BR111 supports USXGMII and SGMII at 10.3125Gpbs and 1.25Gbps in AC coupled mode. I say AC coupled since DS100BR111 has CML receiver referenced to VDD.

The customer also found out about the DS110DF111. And he has additional questions.
What can DS110DF111 do more compared to the redriver DS100BR111?
Also, in terms of signal integrity, will DS110DF111 be better than DS100BR111?
Does it also support XFI and SGMII both?

Hi Art,

DS110DF111 has much more functionality than DS100BR111.
DS100BR111 is an equalizer only while DS110DF111 is an equalizer plus a retimer. DS100BR devices passes through high frequency jitter while DS110DF111 attenuates this high frequency jitter.
Also, DS110DF111 AC couples and is compatible with XFI and SGMII interface.

Hi Art,
Yes. It is preferred to have AC coupling Caps on both inputs and outputs. This would isolate or eliminate any common mode voltage contention.
