SN65DP159: Changing crossover point in DEV_FUNC_MODE field

Hello,

There is the following description in the register map of the datasheet.

"When changing crossover point , need to toggle PD_EN or external HPD_SNK" in DEV_FUNC_MODE field.

What does it mean?

I am using the fixed value which is the default setting. (2b01)

In this case, after changing input signal of SN65DP159 from VGA to FHD(Over 1Gbps), do I need to toggle PD_EN?

If the user is changing the setting of DEV_FUNC_MODE register, then a PD_EN or HPD_SNK toggle is needed to confirm that the new setting is activated.

If the DEV_FUNC_MODE is already set to 01 or 10, the crossover between redriver and retimer mode is handled automatically and does not require an extra toggle of PD_EN or HPD_SNK.
