DS90UB933-Q1: 914'LOCK pin is low and 914 side can't connect I2C of 933

Part Number: DS90UB933-Q1

Hi

A new camera module using DS90UB933+ISX019. 914 is verifyed ok as 914 can connect another 913 or 933 board. When the new camera module connect 914, the Lock pin of 914 is low and 914 and 933 can't commucate by I2C. That say the system of 914 board can't find the I2C adress of 933. Can you help to check ?

Another, PCLK of old module( they are ok) is from imager,  but this new module is from external OSC.

If LOCK pin of 914 is low, Could the I2C communication be normal ?

  • Hello,
This is a public forum, so please do not post confidential stuff on here.

To your question, it looks like you are using the wrong MODE Pin settings. you need to change the pull-down from 0 ohm to 4.7Kohm (see 933 d/s table 2).
Same thing to the IDx pin, please refer to d/s table 6.

No, if you have no LOCK you will not have any I2C communication.
  • Hi Hamzeh
In my actual circuit, R21 is 4.7K. and the IDX PIN R20 is 2k. In the design, there is no ISP and there is only a imager sensor. The sensor can' t work and can't output PCLK to 933 if 933 and 914 can't communicate and control the sensor. If this, how we set the mode PIN ?
What the reasons cause the no lock by your experience ?
  • Hello Aggil,

    okay these values are okay.
What about PDB Pin? I can see in your circuit that it is not connected to any thing!!! please use 10Kohm resistor and 10uF Capacitor.
  • HI

       thank you
