TIC12400-Q1: Quesiton of current consumption

Part Number: TIC12400-Q1

Hi team,

Can you provide the anwers for the following questions of TIC12400-Q1 from customer?

-. As a example, when setting wetting current to 15mA, is there any leakage current under the open condition of not detected?

-. If Threshold level settings are changed, is there any change on the current consumption?

-. When input signal has some noise, is it a common practice to adjust the wetting current or threshold as the countermeasure?

Thanks,

Sam Lee

  • Hi Sam,

    Please see below for answers.

-. As a example, when setting wetting current to 15mA, is there any leakage current under the open condition of not detected?

This will depend on the switch configurations connected to INx. If non ideal switches are connected to INx, there may be resistance present that would cause some dirt resistance in the mega ohm range and creating a leakage path to ground.

-. If Threshold level settings are changed, is there any change on the current consumption?

No change in current consumption if threshold level changes. Power consumption is related to wetting current and the Tpoll_time, Tpoll_act_time.

-. When input signal has some noise, is it a common practice to adjust the wetting current or threshold as the countermeasure?

This is correct. Make sure to leave enough room for code difference caused by noise while considering the wetting current accuracy variations and other non ideal situations.

Here is a application note on examples to select threshold settings for both comparator and ADC threshold:

    Thank you,
