HD3SS3220: ESD protection

Part Number: HD3SS3220

Hello, I am designing a bridge board that has USB 3.1 gen 1 signals.

Host differential pairs (SSRX, SSTX) come from a Host connector to the MUX (HD3SS3220). Then muxed differential pairs (CTX1,CTX2,CRX1,CRX2) are connected to a device connector.

In HD3SS3220 DFP eval board, there are ESD protection didoes for those muxed signal (CT/RX1,2) but not for those host (SSR/TX) signals.

Is there any concern to put esd protection diodes on SSRX and SSTX diff pairs?
